Set Up Benchmarks

On your first visit, Benchmarks shows what the report contains, then asks two questions: what your store sells, and which countries your customers are in. The answers decide which stores you are compared with and which retail days are marked on the charts.

Set Up Benchmarks#

In the sidebar, open Benchmarks.

Benchmarks opens with an overview of what the report shows, next to a preview with sample data. Click Next.

Which Category to Pick#

Pick the category most of your revenue comes from. A store with a broad branded catalog picks General store. A dropshipping store with mixed, unbranded products from AliExpress or CJ picks Asia dropshipping, because shipping times, refunds and margins of these stores differ from stores that hold stock.

Your order value class is not a choice. It is set from your own orders and updated daily, so a store with $40 orders is never compared with a store with $400 orders. The class limits differ per category, so the panel updates as you click through categories.

What Happens Next#

On the first visit, Profitario builds your benchmark history from up to 400 days of past orders. The page says "Building your benchmark history from past orders" and loads the report on its own after a few minutes.

The report then shows your peer group. If your category has too few stores, Profitario widens the group and marks the page with Limited data (see Who Is My Store Compared With?).

You can change both answers later from the top of the report: click the category in the peer group sentence to pick another one, and the Calendar button to change the countries. A new category takes effect immediately.
