Why Transaction Fees Sometimes Appear Later
Atualizado em 21 de abril de 2026
You may notice that the Txn Fee column on the orders list shows a clock icon on a recent order instead of an amount. This means we are still waiting for your payment processor to confirm the exact fee. Fees always appear once the processor reports them.
What You'll See#
On the orders list, the Txn Fee column shows one of the following:
- A fee amount (e.g.
€1.73) — the fee has arrived and is included in profit calculations. - A small clock icon — the order is recent and we are waiting for the fee to be confirmed. Hover over the icon for details.
- A dash — the order used a payment method that doesn't report fees automatically, so you'll need to add them manually or with a fee rule.
Why It Happens#
Payment processors finalise their fee a short time after the transaction completes. This is most noticeable with:
- Shopify Payments — fees are typically confirmed within a few hours of the order.
- PayPal — fees arrive once PayPal reports them back to Shopify.
- Stripe — fees arrive through your connected Stripe integration in the next sync.
Until the fee is confirmed, the Txn Fee column shows the clock icon instead of guessing an amount.
What to Do#
Usually nothing — we update the fee automatically as soon as it's available, and your dashboard totals update with it.
If after a couple of days the fee is still missing:
- Shopify Payments / PayPal: the order likely used a payment method that doesn't report fees automatically (for example a manual payment method, gift cards, or cash). You can enter a fee manually on the order, or add a fee rule for that payment method in the Transaction Fees settings.
- Stripe: make sure your Stripe integration is connected in Settings → Integrations. Without the integration, Stripe fees never arrive in Profitario.
