The Marketing Attribution Report

Updated October 6, 2026

The Marketing Attribution report shows where your orders came from and what each channel, ad platform and campaign earned after costs. Use it to decide which campaigns to scale and which to cut, measured on profit instead of the numbers each ad platform reports about itself.

Where
In the sidebar, open Reports, then Marketing Attribution.
Who
Stores that run paid ads. Connect your ad accounts first, so there is spend and a list of campaigns to match orders to.
Updates
New orders appear within minutes. Spend follows each ad account's sync. Changing the model or the click window recalculates the page at once.

Guides for this page#

What Is on the Page#

Toolbar. The date range, the attribution model and click window (one picker), export to CSV or Excel, and the column picker. The model and window you pick here apply everywhere in Profitario: the dashboard, the Orders list, the Ad Spend and Products reports.

Summary cards. Eight numbers for the date range. Six of them compare with the period of the same length before it.

CardWhat it shows
RevenueRevenue of all orders in the range, from every channel
Paid shareThe share of that revenue credited to a paid ad click
Ad spendSpend of your connected ad accounts in the range
ROASRevenue credited to ad clicks divided by ad spend
Profit after adsContribution margin of all orders minus ad spend
POASProfit on ad spend: contribution margin of the credited orders divided by ad spend
NC ROASROAS counting only orders from first-time customers
UnattributedThe share of revenue in Not attributed, No campaign match and Broken UTMs (see below)

Revenue by channel. One bar split into the channels, with each channel's share of revenue.

The table. Every order sits in exactly one row (with Linear, an order can be split over several), so the rows add up to your total revenue. Paid ads opens into ad platforms, and each platform into campaigns. Click a campaign to open its panel.

RowOrders in it
Paid adsCredited to an ad click. Opens into Facebook, Google Ads, TikTok and the other platforms

Point of salePlaced in your store's POS

UnknownNot enough information to tell
Broken UTMsThe ad link arrived with a placeholder that the ad platform never filled in
Not attributedNo visit inside the click window

Under each platform, No campaign match holds the orders that came from an ad click on that platform but could not be matched to one of your campaigns. Rows marked with an info icon explain their orders and the fix when you click the icon. Why an order lands in a row is in How Orders Are Sorted Into Channels and Matched to Campaigns.

Columns. By default Spend, Orders, Revenue vs platform, ROAS vs platform, Profit, POAS, NC ROAS and NC CPA. The vs platform columns show three values side by side: Profitario's number, the number the ad platform reports, and the difference. More columns (contribution margin, AOV, CPA, new customer revenue and share) are in the column picker. Values Profitario calculates from its own attribution carry a small Profitario mark. Every column is explained in ROAS, POAS and Platform Numbers in Attribution.

Campaign panel. Revenue, profit, ROAS and NC ROAS of the campaign. The Credited orders tab lists the orders the campaign earned (the newest 200), each marked New or Returning; click one to open the order. The Products tab lists the products in those orders.

Compare models. At the bottom of the model picker, Compare models side by side shows each campaign's revenue under every model next to each other. A campaign that earns much more under First click than under Last click is marked Opener: it starts journeys that other ads finish. The reverse is a Closer.

Limits#

  • Order attribution is in beta. Channel detection and attributed ad spend can be incomplete and can change.
  • Revenue is counted on the order date, spend on the day it was spent. A campaign whose clicks happened before the date range can have orders but no spend in the range. It shows the No spend in range badge and no ROAS.
  • With several stores in different currencies, amounts are added up without conversion.
  • Views (people who saw an ad without clicking) are not counted. Only clicks are.
