How Verified Results Work

Updated October 11, 2026

You opened a link or scanned a QR code from an image marked Verified by Profitario. This page explains where those numbers come from, what the store owner can and cannot change, and how to read the verify page.

Where
The page behind a profitar.io/v/... link or the QR code on a shared image.
Who
Anyone who sees a shared result: followers, partners, investors, buyers of a store.
Updates
Never. The numbers are frozen when the link is created and stay the same for as long as it is shared.

What Profitario Is#

Profitario is a profit analytics app for online stores. A store owner connects their Shopify store and their ad accounts (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and others), and Profitario calculates revenue, costs and profit from that data every day. A shared result is a snapshot of that calculation for one period.

Where the Numbers Come From#

Profitario reads the numbers directly from the store's connected platforms. Nobody types them in.

NumberSource
Revenue, OrdersThe order totals of the store's Shopify orders in that period, imported directly from Shopify.
Ad spendThe spend reported by the store's connected ad accounts, fetched from each ad platform.
ROASRevenue divided by ad spend.
Net profit, Net marginRevenue minus product costs, ad spend, shipping, transaction fees and the store's other expenses. Net margin is net profit as a share of revenue.
COGSCost of goods sold: what the products in the orders cost the store.

The Data sources section of the verify page lists the platforms the numbers came from, with their logos.

What the Store Owner Can and Cannot Change#

Cannot change. The store owner never enters or edits the numbers on the card. Profitario calculates them on its own servers, and they are copied into the link the moment it is created. After that they are frozen: if the owner later changes a setting, adds a cost or wants a different number, the link keeps showing the original snapshot. The date under the seal (Snapshot followed by a date) is when the numbers were taken.

Can change. The owner chooses which results to share and how they look:

  • The period (for example September, or the last 30 days).
  • Which figures appear on the card, and the design, colors and size.
  • Whether the store name is shown. By default it is not.
  • Whether the link stays online. The owner can stop sharing at any time.

The verify page only shows the figures that are on the card. Hiding a figure leaves it out entirely; it does not alter the other figures.

How Profit Depends on Costs#

Revenue, orders and ad spend come straight from Shopify and the ad platforms. Profit also depends on costs. Some of those come from connected services (suppliers, shipping carriers, payment providers), others the store owner records in Profitario themselves, such as the purchase price of a product or a monthly rent.

If costs are missing, profit reads higher than it really is. That is why the verify page has a Data health section for cards that show profit:

CheckWhat it means
Product costsWhether every order in the period has a product cost.
Transaction feesWhether every order in the period has its payment fee.

Each check shows Complete, Missing for a few orders or Missing for some orders. When costs are missing for more than a few orders, the card itself also carries a note such as "A few product costs missing", and the store owner cannot hide it. A card that shows only revenue, orders, ad spend or ROAS has no data health section, because none of these numbers depend on costs.

Reading the Verify Page#

Reading the Verify Page

No longer shared. The store owner turned the link off. The numbers on any image that points to it are no longer verified.

This link doesn't lead to any results. The code is mistyped, or the owner deleted the link. Codes are seven characters and never contain 0, o, 1, l or i, so check the code against the image and type it again. A link that was never published also lands here.

An image with the Profitario seal but no working link cannot be verified.
