Limit the Pixel to Your Domains or Turn It Off

Two settings of a running pixel: the domains it accepts events from, and the switch that turns it off again.
- Where
- In the sidebar, open Attribution. The gear and the switch are in the row of the store.
- Who
- Stores with a staging or test storefront, and stores that want to stop recording.
Allowed Domains#
Click the gear in the row of a store whose pixel is on. Under Allowed domains, type a domain and press Enter, then click Done.
- Empty (default). Events from every domain of the store are accepted. Leave it empty unless you have a reason.
- With domains. Only events from these domains and their subdomains are recorded, for example
nordwind-living.comalso coverswww.nordwind-living.com. Use it to keep a staging or test storefront out of your data. Up to 20 domains.
A change can take up to 5 minutes to apply.
Turn Off the Pixel#
What changes:
- The pixel is removed from your storefront and stops recording visits. The status becomes Not collecting.
- Orders from then on are attributed from Shopify's data only, as before the pixel.
- Visits already recorded stay on their orders.
- The Shopify permission stays granted. To start again, turn the switch back on. No new approval is needed.
