The Attribution Page and the Profitario Pixel
Updated October 3, 2026
The Profitario pixel records the visits to your storefront and connects each order to the ad clicks that came before it. Turn it on if you run paid ads and want to see which campaigns and ads lead to orders. This article explains the Attribution page. The guides below cover each task in detail.
- Where
- In the sidebar, open Attribution. Inside a store, click Home at the top of the sidebar first.
- Who
- Stores that run paid ads. You approve one permission request in your Shopify admin.
- Updates
- Only orders placed after the pixel is on. Visit data reaches an order about 15 minutes after the checkout. Older orders are not changed.
Guides for this page#
The Attribution Page#
The page lists every store of your account with the state of its pixel.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Permission required | The Shopify permission for the pixel is missing. The pixel cannot be turned on yet |
| Not collecting | The permission is there, the pixel is turned off |
| Waiting for first event | The pixel is on and has not sent an event yet |
| Collecting | The pixel is on and sent an event in the last 24 hours. The line below shows when |
| No recent events | The pixel is on, and its last event is more than 24 hours old |
What the Pixel Does#
Without the pixel, Profitario knows up to two visits per order, both taken from Shopify. With the pixel, it records every visit itself, with the complete link, and can match an order down to the single ad. The pixel does not change revenue, costs or profit, only which campaign an order is credited to. The comparison is in What the Pixel Changes in Your Reports.
Limits#
- Past visits and past orders are not filled in. Recording starts when the switch is turned on.
- One pixel per store. Each store is turned on separately, and each needs its own Shopify permission.
- Order attribution is in beta. Channel detection and attributed ad spend can be incomplete and can change.
