Disputes / orders, monthly
Dispute rate over time
Dispute count and rate per period, so a rising trend shows long before your processor writes to you.
Every dispute across your payment gateways, with dispute rate, outcomes, fees and the amount at stake.

How it helps
Disputes arrive in Shopify Payments, PayPal and Stripe separately, and the rate the card networks watch is not shown anywhere in one number. Shopify chargeback tracking in Profitario collects every case with its status, amount and fees, so you see the trend and the cost before a processor raises it with you.
Dispute count and rate per period show whether disputes grow with sales or faster than them. A rising rate is the early sign to tighten fraud settings or delivery communication, long before it becomes a monitoring problem.
Disputes that need a response are listed apart from those under review, won and lost, next to your dispute win rate. Responding on time with evidence is the only way to recover the amount, so the open list is the one to work through first.
Lost amounts and dispute fees add up per period and per gateway. When one gateway has a much higher rate, you know where to look: its fraud settings, its checkout or the channel that sends it orders.

Questions it answers
01 · You ask
Why it matters: Card networks and processors act on the dispute rate, not on single cases. Crossing a monitoring threshold can mean extra fees, a reserve on payouts or a closed account.
The report shows
Your dispute rate per period.
You act
Card networks start monitoring at around 1% to 1.5% of transactions, depending on the network and program. If your rate rises toward that, act before you get a letter.

02 · You ask
Why it matters: A lost dispute costs the order amount, the product, the shipping and a fee. Counted per quarter, it is often larger than expected and belongs in your margin.
The report shows
Lost amounts plus dispute fees for the period.
You act
Count lost amounts and fees as a cost of the products and channels they come from.
Q3 · lost amounts plus fees
03 · You ask
Why it matters: The reason customers give shows how to reduce chargebacks on Shopify: tracking and delivery updates for not received, stricter checks for fraudulent, better product pages for not as described.
The report shows
Disputes grouped by the reason the customer gave.
You act
If most disputes say 'not received', add tracking to confirmation emails and use signature delivery on large orders.

04 · You ask
Why it matters: Rates differ by gateway because traffic and fraud screening differ. Without the split, a problem on one gateway is diluted in the store average.
The report shows
Disputes and dispute rate per payment gateway.
You act
If one gateway has a much higher rate, check its fraud settings and which channel sends it the disputed orders.
