How to Connect Stripe with Profitario

The Stripe integration allows Profitario to monitor payment disputes (chargebacks) and include them in your profit reporting. Stripe uses a restricted API key for authentication.

Setup Steps#

1. Log in to your Stripe Dashboard.
2. Navigate to Developers > API keys.
3. Click Create restricted key.
4. Give the key a name (e.g., "Profitario").
5. Under permissions, grant read-only access to Charges and Disputes. No other permissions are needed.
6. Click Create key.
7. Click Reveal live key token and copy the key.
8. In Profitario, go to Settings > Integrations > Stripe.
9. Paste the API key into the field.
10. Click Add API Key to complete the connection.

Profitario will begin importing dispute data immediately.

What Data Is Imported#

• Payment disputes (chargebacks) -- amounts, status, and resolution
• Dispute data is reflected in your profit reports under the disputes category

Stripe transaction fees are not imported through this integration. For transaction fee tracking, see your Shopify payment reports.

Security Notes#

• The restricted key only has read access to charges and disputes. Profitario cannot modify any data in your Stripe account.
• API keys do not expire unless you revoke them in the Stripe dashboard.
