How Can I Cancel My Subscription?

Updated October 4, 2026

Cancelling stops your Profitario subscription in Shopify. Your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, then your account moves to the Free plan. This article shows where to cancel and what changes afterwards.

Where
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Billing. Cancel is on the Current Plan card.
Who
Owners, admins and members with access to all stores. Viewers cannot cancel, and team members limited to selected stores do not see Billing.
Time
About 1 minute
Updates
Nothing changes until the end of the paid period. After that date the account is moved to the Free plan within a day.

Cancel Your Subscription#

Sidebar

In the Review step, the first line shows the date until which your subscription stays active. Note the date, then click Continue. To leave without cancelling, click Keep Subscription.

Cancel Your Subscription

The dialog now shows Subscription Cancelled and repeats the date until which your plan remains active. Click Done.

What Happens After You Cancel#

Until the end of the paid period, nothing changes. Your plan and its limits stay as they are until the date shown in the dialog. There is no partial refund for the remaining days.

The account owner gets an email, and a notification appears in the app. The notification is titled Subscription cancelled and states the date until which you keep your plan.

The Current Plan card changes right away. It still shows your plan name, now with the badge No subscription and the line No active billing cycle. The Cancel button is gone because there is nothing left to cancel.

After that date, the account moves to the Free plan. This happens within a day, and a second notification, Subscription ended, tells you so. The Free plan includes 50 orders per month, 1 shop and 5 integrations. The Plans page lists every plan with its limits.

If your account is above the Free plan limits, you are asked to subscribe again. This applies when your stores average more than 50 orders a month, when more than one store is connected, or when more than five integrations are connected. The overview and the store pages then show Plan limit reached in place of your reports. Billing, Integrations and your account settings stay available, so you can start a subscription or disconnect integrations you no longer need. Store settings are blocked until the account is within the limits again. See Free Plan Limits and the "Plan limit reached" Screen.

Profitario creates no new charges. Your subscription is billed through Shopify. Charges that were created before you cancelled, including usage charges that were already billed, stay on your Shopify bill.

Cancelling deletes nothing. Your account, your stores, your costs and your settings stay as they are. To remove your account and its data, see How Can I Delete My Profitario Account?.

Example

Your subscription renews on the 20th of each month, and you cancel on October 2. You keep your plan until October 20. On October 20 or 21 the account is moved to the Free plan. If your stores had about 1,000 orders in each of the last months, the overview and the store pages show Plan limit reached from then on, until you subscribe again.

Subscribe Again#

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Billing > Plans. Click Upgrade on the plan you want and approve the charge in Shopify. The plan is active as soon as Shopify confirms it.

The 14-day free trial applies to the first paid subscription of an account only. A new subscription after a cancellation is charged from the first day.

Accounts With Several Stores#

An account has one subscription for all of its stores, billed through one of them. The Current Plan card names that store after Billed through. Cancelling ends the subscription for the whole account, not for a single store.

Uninstalling the App Also Cancels#

When you uninstall the Profitario app from the store that pays for the subscription, the subscription ends with it. In that case the account moves to the Free plan right away, without the remaining paid period. To keep your plan until the end of the period, cancel in Profitario first and uninstall later.

Troubleshooting#

There is no Cancel button. The button only appears while a subscription is active. On the Free plan, or after you have already cancelled, the card shows No subscription and there is nothing to cancel.

I do not see Billing in the sidebar. Your access is limited to selected stores. Ask the account owner or an admin to cancel.

"Could not cancel your subscription. Please try again." The request to Shopify did not go through, and nothing was cancelled. Wait a few minutes and try again. If the message keeps coming back, contact support.

I cancelled by mistake. Subscribe again as described above. Because the old subscription cannot be restored, a new one starts.

Still stuck? Write to support@profitario.com and include the email address you log in with, the store that pays for Profitario, and the date you tried to cancel.
