Track App and Software Subscriptions (App Expenses)

Apps and software are tracked on their own page: in the sidebar, open Expenses, then App Expenses. That is why the category Software & Apps is not offered on the Operating page.

Who

Stores that pay for Shopify apps or other software.

Add or Import App Expenses#

• Add App opens the same dialog as Add Expense, without the category. The fields are described in Add an Operating Expense.
• Import CSV reads the charges file you export from Shopify. The dialog explains the export: in your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Billing, open the list of charges, pick the date range and export it as CSV. After the upload you see the apps found in the file and select the ones to import.

App expenses are shown as App Costs on the dashboard, separate from Operating Expenses.
