Get Profit Reports by Email

Updated October 2, 2026

Profitario can email you a profit summary for each shop: a daily, weekly and monthly report with your net profit, key metrics, two charts and the state of your connected data sources. This article shows how to turn the reports on, when they arrive and how to read them.

Turn On Report Emails#

Sidebar

The Email reports table has one row per shop. Each row is set up separately.

Turn On Report Emails

The reports go to the email address you log in with. To turn a report off, switch it off in the same place.

What Happens Next#

When reports arrive. Reports are sent between 5 and 6 AM in the shop's timezone and always cover a period that has ended:

ReportSentCoversCompared with
DailyEvery morningYesterdayThe day before
WeeklyMonday morningsThe previous week, Monday through SundayThe week before
MonthlyThe 1st of every monthThe previous calendar monthThe month before

The first report arrives with the next send for that frequency: a daily report the next morning, a weekly report on the next Monday, a monthly report on the 1st of the next month.

One email per report and shop. If you turn on more than one frequency, each report arrives as its own email. On a Monday you receive the daily and the weekly report, and on the 1st of a month the monthly report as well. Each report covers a single shop, so with several shops you receive one email per shop. There is no combined report for a dashboard view.

The subject line. It contains the report type, the shop name, the covered date and the net profit, for example Daily Report · Aurora Living · 12. Jul · €1,284 net profit. You can follow your results from the inbox without opening every email.

Test reports. A test report is sent to your own address in the language selected in that row, also when all three switches are off. It covers the most recent period that has ended: the daily test covers yesterday, the weekly test the last 7 days up to yesterday, and the monthly test the previous calendar month. After any report email was sent to you, wait 5 minutes before you request the next test.

What Each Section Shows#

Header and profit summary. The top of the email names the report type and the shop, with the covered date or period below it.

The large number is your net profit for the covered period, next to the period before it. The line below shows the change between the two in percent: green when profit rose by more than 2%, red when it fell by more than 2%, gray in between. Under that, a one-line headline and a short analysis explain what drove the result, for example more orders, lower ad spend or fewer refunds. This text is written automatically by AI from the numbers in the report, in your report language. When it cannot be created, the report is sent without it and everything else stays the same.

Last 30 days chart. Revenue, net profit and expenses for the 30 days up to the end of the covered period.

The black line is your daily revenue. The green line is your daily net profit, and it turns red where a day ended with a loss. The gray bars below the zero line are your expenses for each day: the difference between revenue and net profit, so everything that was deducted that day. The two labels at the right end show revenue and net profit for the most recent day.

Last 12 months heatmap. One square per day for the past year. The last day is outlined.

Green squares are profitable days. Red squares are loss days. The shades are graded against your own year: the darkest green marks your best days and the darkest red your largest losses, whatever the size of your shop. Light gray squares are days without data or with a net profit of exactly zero, for example the days before the shop was connected. The vertical line marks the turn of the year.

Key metrics. Nine metrics for the covered period, each with its change against the period before.

MetricWhat it showsExample from the screenshot
RevenueRevenue from the orders of the period€6,540
OrdersNumber of orders152
Ad spendCombined spend of the ad accounts connected to the shop€1,890
ROASReturn on ad spend: revenue divided by ad spend€6,540 ÷ €1,890 = 3.46×
Net marginNet profit as a percentage of revenue€1,284 ÷ €6,540 = 19.6%
Fee rateTransaction fees as a percentage of revenue2.9%
AOVAverage order value: revenue divided by orders€6,540 ÷ 152 = €43
COGSCost of goods sold (your product costs) for the period€2,110
Refund rateRefunds in the period as a percentage of the orders2.1%

Amounts are rounded to whole currency units.

Money and count metrics show their change in percent. The three rate metrics (net margin, fee rate, refund rate) show their change in percentage points, written as pp: a net margin that moves from 18.9% to 19.6% shows ▲ 0.7pp.

The color tells you how large the change is and in which direction:

ColorMeaning
GrayA small change: up to 2% for money and count metrics, up to 2 percentage points for rates
GreenThe value rose by more than that
RedThe value fell by more than that

Fee rate and refund rate are the exception: they are green when they fall and red when they rise, because lower is better. Ad spend and COGS follow the general rule, so green there means the value went up, not that it improved.

Data health. This section tells you how complete the data behind the numbers is.

  • Product costs shows the share of the period's orders that have product costs. When this is low, your profit is overstated because costs are missing. Add them under Product Costs in the sidebar.
  • Transaction fees shows the share of the period's orders that have payment fees.
  • Ad accounts lists the ad accounts connected to the shop, grouped by platform, each with a status and the time of its last sync in the shop's timezone.
  • Integrations lists the other services connected to your account, such as payment providers and shipping platforms, in the same way.
StatusMeaningWhat to do
ConnectedThe connection works.Nothing
Updates pausedUpdates are turned off for this ad account, so no new spend comes in.Nothing, if you paused the account on purpose
Token expiredProfitario is no longer allowed to read this source.Reconnect it under Integrations
Connection errorThe connection failed or was revoked.Reconnect it under Integrations

With a red status, the report can be missing the numbers of that source. See Reconnect expired token.

Open dashboard. The button at the bottom of every report opens the dashboard of that shop.

Why the Email Can Differ From the Dashboard#

The report is a snapshot taken at the moment it is sent. Your dashboard keeps updating afterwards, so small differences between the email and the dashboard are normal.

Ad spend can arrive later. Ad platforms finalize their numbers on their own schedule and in the ad account's own timezone, which is not always the timezone of your shop. Part of the covered period's ad spend may not have been reported yet when your email went out. Since ad spend feeds into net profit, ROAS and net margin, those numbers can shift as the final spend arrives.

Late changes to orders. A refund issued after the report was sent, an edited order, or product costs added later all update your dashboard for the covered period. The email you already received stays as it was.

Limits#

  • A report covers one shop. Dashboard views that combine several shops do not have a report.
  • Reports go to the login email address of the team member. You cannot add other recipients; invite the person to your team so they can turn on their own reports.
  • The send time is fixed. It cannot be moved to another hour.
  • Reports are sent for periods without orders too. They then show zeros.
  • Report emails pause for an account without an active Profitario subscription when nobody on the account has used Profitario for more than 30 days. They start again by themselves, usually from the next day, after someone logs in.
  • Reports stop for a shop that is uninstalled, and for a team member who is removed from the account.

Troubleshooting#

No report arrived.

The switches cannot be changed. Your role is Viewer. Ask an Owner or Admin of the account to change your role.

The test report shows "A report email was sent to you recently. Wait a few minutes and try again." A report was sent to you within the last 5 minutes. Wait and click again.

The written analysis or a chart is missing. The report is still complete. When the analysis or a chart cannot be created, the email is sent without it, and it is back in the next report.

The report shows Token expired or Connection error. Reconnect that source under Integrations. See Reconnect expired token and Why Is My Ad Spend Not Showing or Incorrect?.

Product costs shows a low percentage. Orders in the period are missing product costs. See How to Add Product Costs.

Still stuck? Write to support@profitario.com and include the shop, the report type (daily, weekly or monthly), the date of the report you expected, and the email address you log in with.
