The Metrics#

MetricCalculationBetter
Orders per dayOrders in the last 90 days divided by 90Higher
Average order valueGross sales divided by ordersHigher
Order marginNet profit as a share of net salesHigher
Profit per orderNet profit divided by ordersHigher
Blended ROASNet sales divided by total ad spendHigher
Ad spend shareAd spend as a share of net salesLower
Refund rateRefunded value as a share of gross salesLower
Returning customersShare of orders from returning customersHigher
Dispute rateShare of orders with a chargeback or disputeLower

Every store is measured with its own profit rules, order statuses and refund dating, the same way as its dashboard. Net profit here is before ad spend tax. Blended ROAS and ad spend share only compare stores with ad spend in the last 90 days.

How to Read a Rank#

The rank is a percentile: the share of stores in your group you are ahead of. Stores with exactly your value count half. It is turned around for metrics where lower is better, so a rank further right is always better.

Example. Your refund rate is 3.1%. In your group, 72% of stores have a higher refund rate. Your rank is 72 and the row shows Top 28% of peers. A rank between 45 and 55 shows as Around the peer median.

Above 55Top N% of peersGreen
45 to 55Around the peer medianNeutral
Below 45Bottom N% of peersAmber

Trend. Your rank now minus your rank for the 90 days that ended 30 days earlier, compared with the same stores. +6 pts means you passed 6% of your peers in a month. A dash means there is no earlier value to compare with.

≈ in front of a rank. Your peer group was widened or is small (see Who Is My Store Compared With?). The rank is an estimate.

Orders per Day#

Shown on a relative scale, because other stores' order counts are private. The median column shows Not shared, and the row says, for example, "Top 36% of peers". The order volume trend shows the same rank as Your size with the sentence "More orders per day than 64% of similar stores".

Distributions#

Each curve shows how the stores of your group spread over one metric in the last 90 days. The shaded part is the middle 50% of stores, the marker is you, and the line under each curve gives the middle 50% as numbers, for example "Middle 50%: 2.1% to 5.4%". The badge on the right repeats your rank.

A narrow curve means most stores are close together, so a small difference already moves your rank a lot. A wide curve means the same rank covers a larger gap in value.

Orders per day has no curve. It shows a strip from Fewer to More with your position, for the same privacy reason as above. Metrics where a lower value is better say Lower is better, and when your peer group has limited data, each metric starts with Indicative and the shaded part has a dashed outline.
