Order Trends in Benchmarks

Updated October 3, 2026

Three charts in Benchmarks show when your orders come in compared with similar stores: over the year, over the day and over the week. They answer whether a slow week is yours or the whole market's, and whether today is on track.

Order Volume Trend#

Order Volume Trend

Every line is a 7-day average indexed to its own average for the period shown, which is 100. Each store is indexed to its own average first, so a store with 20 orders a day and a store with 400 orders a day can be compared without sharing order counts. Days before a store's first order are left out.

Example. Your line is at 80 in the week after Black Friday, the peer median at 115. The whole market is busy and you are below your usual level, so the drop is specific to your store.

Your ad spend. When you spend on ads, a faint second line shows your own ad spend indexed the same way. It shows whether a rise in orders followed a rise in spend. Click Your ad spend in the legend to hide it.

Key figures:

  • Your size. Your rank on orders per day, for example "More orders per day than 64% of similar stores".
  • Last 14 days, you. Your average index of the last 14 days minus 100. −12% means 12% below your own average for the period.
  • Last 14 days, peers. The same for the peer median.

Today vs a Typical Day#

Today vs a Typical Day

Your typical day is your average daily orders over the last 28 days. The bands show how the days of similar stores ran over the same 28 days.

Pacing shows today's orders so far as a share of your typical day, against the share similar stores usually reach by this hour.

  • Orders so far. Today's orders and the share of your typical day, for example "38% of your typical day by 14:00".
  • Peers by 14:00. The share of their typical day similar stores usually reach by this hour.
  • Projected today. Today's orders at the end of the day if the rest of the day runs like your peers' days, and the change against your typical day. The dotted Projection line on the chart shows the rest of the day.

Projected today

Hourly shape shows the share of your orders in each hour over the last 28 days.

  • Your peak hour. The hour with most orders, and the peak hour of similar stores.
  • Before noon. Your share of orders from 00:00 to 12:00, against the peer median.
  • Evening, 18 to 24. Your share of orders from 18:00 to midnight, against the peer median.

A peak earlier or later than your peers' is worth knowing when you schedule emails, ad budgets or flash sales.

Weekday vs Weekend#

Your share of the weekly orders per weekday over the last 90 days, next to the middle 50% of similar stores. Saturday and Sunday are shaded.

  • Weekend share. Your share of orders on Saturday and Sunday, against the peer median. It turns amber when it is below your peers'.
  • Strongest day. The weekday with your largest share, against the peer median for that day.

A higher weekend share than your peers can point to customers who shop in their free time, a lower one to orders placed during working hours.
