How the 14-Day Trial Works
Updated October 4, 2026
The first paid subscription of a Profitario account starts with a 14-day free trial. You get the full plan you picked from the moment you approve it in Shopify, and Shopify starts billing the plan price only after the 14 days. This article shows how to start the trial, what happens when it ends, and what happens if you cancel or change plans before it does.

- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Billing > Plans.

- The plan, with its limits, applies as soon as you approve the subscription in Shopify. Shopify bills the plan price for the first time after 14 days.
How the Trial Works#
Every account starts on the Free plan. Installing Profitario does not start a trial. The trial begins when you pick a paid plan and approve the subscription in Shopify.
The trial is the full plan. From the moment you approve, your account has the limits and features of the plan you picked. There is no reduced trial version.
The 14 days count from the day you approve. During these days Shopify does not bill the plan price. After them, Shopify bills the plan price, and from then on every 30 days.
Billing runs through Shopify. The subscription is added to the Shopify bill of the store you pick. You do not enter payment details in Profitario.
The trial is offered once per account. It applies to the first paid subscription of your Profitario account only. If the account has had a subscription before, including one that was cancelled or ended when the app was uninstalled, a new subscription is billed from the first day. All stores of an account share one subscription, so connecting another store does not give you a second trial.
Example
You approve the Pro plan ($100 per month) on October 4, 2026. You have Pro from that moment on. The trial covers 14 days, and Shopify bills $100 for the first time after it.
- Free trial, $0Oct 4, 2026 – Oct 17, 2026
- Oct 4, 2026Subscription approved
- Pro, $100 every 30 daysSince Oct 18, 2026
- Oct 18, 2026First $100 on your Shopify bill
If you cancel on October 16, day 13 of the trial, the $100 is not billed.
Start Your Trial#
Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then Billing > Plans.

Shopify then opens its approval page for the subscription, named after the plan, for example Profitario Pro. Approve it there. Profitario confirms the subscription, shows Subscription active and takes you to the Subscription page. Your trial has started.
If you leave Shopify's approval page without approving, your account stays on the Free plan and the trial is still available.
If your account is above the Free plan limits, the Plan limit reached screen offers the same trial with a Start 14-day trial button. See Free Plan Limits and the "Plan limit reached" Screen.
During the Trial#

During the trial, a banner at the top of your store pages shows how many days are left. In the last two days it turns amber. You can dismiss it for the current session.
When the Trial Ends#
Nothing changes in Profitario. You stay on the plan you picked, and Shopify bills the plan price on the Shopify bill of the paying store. From then on Shopify bills it every 30 days.
To end up on a different plan, change it before or after the trial ends (see Change, Upgrade or Downgrade Your Plan). To pay nothing, cancel before the trial ends.
Cancel During the Trial#
Cancel on the Current Plan card as described in How Can I Cancel My Subscription?. When you cancel before the 14 days are over:
- The plan price is not billed. Shopify bills it only after the trial, and the subscription no longer exists by then.
- Your plan stays active until the date shown in the cancel dialog. After that date, the account moves to the Free plan within a day.
- Nothing is deleted. Your stores, costs and settings stay as they are.
A later subscription does not get a new trial. It is billed from the first day.
Uninstalling the app also ends the trial. When you uninstall Profitario from the store that pays for the subscription, the subscription ends and the account moves to the Free plan right away.
Change Plans During the Trial#
The trial belongs to the subscription you started it with. If you pick another plan on Plans during the trial, the new subscription replaces the old one, and the new plan is billed from the day you approve it. The remaining trial days are not carried over. During the trial, the Plans page shows a notice with the days left as a reminder.
Example
You start the trial on Pro on October 4, 2026, and switch to Growth ($55 per month) on October 10. The Growth subscription has no trial: Shopify bills $55 from October 10. If you are unsure which plan fits, decide before you start the trial or wait until it has ended.
