What Is the Handling Fee?

Updated April 15, 2026

The handling fee lets you add a cost to an order that is not directly attached to Cost of Goods. This covers expenses such as packing materials, processing fees from a fulfillment center, or other per-order overhead costs.

When to Use It#

Use the handling fee when you have a consistent per-order cost that applies across all orders, such as:

  • Packing materials (boxes, tape, labels)
  • Fulfillment center processing fees
  • Pick-and-pack labor costs

When to Leave It Blank#

If you do not have any per-order costs beyond your product COGS and shipping, leave the handling fee blank. It will not affect your profit calculations.
